ABOUT
Welcome to my site.
My name is Steffan Hacker, and I hope you enjoy viewing my photos and multimedia pieces. I like to work with diverse subjects — people, places or events.
Background
I currently work as a full-time staff photographer for Habitat for Humanity International, based in Americus, Georgia. I photograph stories, special events and building projects around the United States and abroad along with documenting the continuing need for Habitat's house building efforts. In this position, I have completed unique and challenging assignments in over 100 U.S. cities as well as a diverse list of countries that includes Madagascar, Lesotho, Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, New Zealand, Romania, Macedonia, Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Hungary, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and India.
Prior to this, I worked as a photographer's assistant at Hedrich-Blessing Photographers in Chicago where I assisted with lighting on editorial, hospitality, product, industrial and architectural shoots while coordinating film and equipment needs for large-scale studio and location jobs.
Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, I attended Loyola University Chicago where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication.
This site is intended so that fellow professionals, as well as friends and family, can view examples of my photographic work. It serves as an on online photography portfolio, representative of my abilities as a photographer---it is not intended to officially represent any organization.
